Thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, maybe even
millions of Monarch Butterflies were migrating through Silicon Valley
today. The birds were having a picnic. I tried to capture some of the
flight patterns, but, alas was only quick enough to get this Monarch
taking a break on, of all things, a piece of cow dung. For more

Next time you are near San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge see if you
can find the location this photo was taken from. Moon photography is
an art form due to the low light conditions. If your interested in
shooting the moon, this article will be helpful:

Exotic cloud formations over San Francisco Bay, painted by a setting sun as the lights begin to come on in a darkening Silicon Valley. The lights yellow hue is due to the use of Low Pressure Sodium ( LPS ) bulbs, which enhance the star gazing capability of the astronomers at the nearby Lick Observatory on Mount Hamilton.

Once upon a time on a warm spring afternoon two boys and their
faithful dog ( Jake the Wonder Dog ) were exploring a seasonal spring
pond in a quiet meadow. Boys being boys, they soon turned the meadow into a
baseball field and were using a large stick for a bat, and slugs for
baseballs. Fortunately, many slugs were a bit too small, and escaped
the ensuing "slug fest"...

The setting sun reflects on the windows ( actually I don't remember
any glass being left in the window frames ) on the west facing side of
the building as the light from the still working fog light rotates.
